Configuring your Windows Vista Computer for UI Wireless

  1. From the Start button (the circle in the left hand corner with the Windows flag), select Network.

  2. If this is the first network that you are connecting to then a tan bar will appear that says “This computer is not connected to a network.  Click to connect…” After clicking the bar it will turn light blue and a dropdown menu will appear.  Select Connect to a network.

  3. If you are in range of a network it will appear in the list.  Select it and click Connect. The next screen will indicate that “Additional log on information is required to connect to this network.”  Select “Enter/select log on information”

  4. The next screen will prompt you for your HawkID and password.  Leave the Domain blank.

  5. The next screen will indicate that “Additional log on information is required to connect to this network.”  Select “Enter/select log on information”.  This is very similar to a previous screen.

  6. A validate server Certificate will appear.  Click the Ok button.

  7. You will see a screen that shows the computer trying to connect.

  8. You should get a screen that says “Successfully connected to UI-Wireless-WEP”.  Click close.

    Note: Your Hawk ID and password are saved in the Windows Wireless configuration tool. When you change your Hawk ID password, you will need to change it in the wireless configuration tool, as well. See the Update Your Hawk ID Password in UI Wireless Configurations page for more information.
