Pocket PC Configurations for UI Wireless
Before configuring the PDA for UI Wireless check the manufacturer's information to verify that WPA2 is supported for the device.
Possible suggestions from the manufacturer:
- Update wireless driver
- Update Operating system
- Purchase new external wireless card
Configuration settings for UI Wireless WPA2
- Data encryption (WPA2 Enabled)
- The key is provided for me automatically
- Enable network access using IEEE 802.1X.
- Make sure PEAP is selected in the EAP type drop-down list.
- User name (Hawk ID) and Password.
- Leave the Domain field blank

Once connected you can surf the web, send and receive e-mail, and synchronize with the Hawkmail server.
Synchronizing with the Hawkmail Server
Iif you have already set up a partnership with your computer that synchronizes with Hawkmail.
To synchronize your PDA:
- Tap Start then Active Sync.
- Tap the Sync button and your PDA will wirelessly synchronize your data.
If you have not configured a partnership, you will need to tell your PDA how to find our server.
- Open active sync (Tap Start, then Active Sync).
- At the bottom, tap Tools then Options.
- Tap the Server tab and put in the following settings:
- For "Use this server" put in email.uiowa.edu and check the box that says "This server uses an SSL connection".
- Under "Sync these items" check the items that you would like synchronized with the Hawkmail server.
- Tap the Options button and put in your Hawk ID, password, and domain and tap ok.
- You can have Active Sync remember your password by checking the box next to "Save Password".
- Tap OK when you are finished and OK once more to return to the Active Sync main screen.
- Tap the Sync button to begin the synchronization.
