Connecting the iPhone and iPod Touch to UI Wireless

Note: Before configuring your iPhone or iPod Touch for UI Wireless, you must have at least version 2.0 of the operating system software.

Verify that your iPhone/iPod device’s software has been updated to version 2.0.  You may do this on your device by opening Settings > General > About.  Under Version it will state the version number of the software your device is currently running.  If it does not say 2.0 or higher, follow the instructions below.

  • iPhone owners: Connect your device to iTunes and update to the latest version before proceeding.

  • iPod Touch owners: Apple charges a nominal fee ($10) to upgrade to version 2.0.  If you wish to connect to UI Wireless, you will need to purchase and install this update from Apple through iTunes.

Once you have verified that you have version 2.0 or have installed it, you are ready to proceed.

  1. In a UI Wireless hotspot, touch Settings, Wi-Fi, and select UI-Wireless-WPA2.
NOTE: You must tap the words "UI-Wireless-WPA2". The white arrow in the blue button brings up a settings screen which is unneccesary for connecting to the UI Wireless network.
