Cisco Secure Services Client Configuration for UI Wireless WEP

Note: UI-Wireless-WEP will be turned off June 30th of 2008. If your computer supports WPA2 configurations we encourage you to use UI-Wireless-WPA2 as that network is more secure and will be the primary wireless network supported by ITS. Instructions for UI-Wireless-WPA2 can be found here.

To configure the Cisco Secure Services Client to access for a UI-Wireless-WEP:

  1. Open up the Cisco Secure Services Client, select the Create Networks tab, select the network named UI-Wireless-WEP and click the Create Network button.

  2. In the Network Profile window verify that UI-Wireless-WEP network appears in the Name field, then click the Modify button in the Network Configuration Summary section.

  3. In the Network Authentication Window turn on the Authentication Methods, select PEAP and click the OK button.

  4. In the Network Profile window select the Add button in the Access Devices box.

  5. In the Add Access Device window select the UI-Wireless-WEP network, select "Actively search for this access device" and click the Add Access button.

  6. In the Network Profile window click the OK button.

  7. If you selected "Actively search for this access device" then the login window will pop up, otherwise in the Cisco Secure Services Client window, select the UI-Wireless-WEP network, then click the Connect button, then the login window will pop up.
