Wireless Support Center
Note: The WEP security protocol is being retired on June 30, 2008 and will no longer work to access the UI Wireless network.
UI-Wireless-WEP is being retired for security reasons and will be replaced by the more secure and standards-based WPA2 security protocol. The UI Wireless network is currently accessible using WPA2 (UI-Wireless-WPA2), which is supported by many modern wireless devices. See the links below for UI Wireless configuration instructions using the UI-Wireless-WPA2 network.
The University of Iowa provides Wi-Fi wireless access for students, faculty, staff, and guests. This service provides wireless data network access for mobile computing devices such as laptops and PDA’s. The University focuses on providing access in common spaces, classrooms, conference rooms, and similar areas. Office space and other non-public areas may be covered, but these types of spaces are not currently priority coverage areas.
