How to Get Service Pack 2

There are a number of different ways to get Windows XP Service Pack 2:

Automatic Update

- The Windows Automatic Update pushes out Service Pack 2

Download the Full Installer from Microsoft

- Available now is the full installation of Service Pack 2 as an executable file.  This file is nearly 300MB in size, so this is not recommended for modem users.  Please note that the installer through Automatic Updates and Windows Update will be customized to your Windows installation and will be smaller in size than the full install file.  If you would like to download the full installer, you can click here.

Contact ITS

- You can bring your Windows XP machine in to ITS and we can install Service Pack 2 for you.

Get a CD from Microsoft

- You can get a copy of SP2 on CD from Microsoft directly.  You can get this by going to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx.
