Stability and Desktop Composition
The updated Windows Graphics User Interface(UI) allows for a more stable and visually appealing environment. It eliminates the tearing effects from the old Windows UIs which greatly enhances the quality of the experience.
This is due to the way Windows Vista incorporates Aero, there are many cosmetic features that improve the visual aspect of Windows. There are no more tearing of windows, latency or downtime between moving a window and when it actually moves, and far fewer visual glitches.
Desktop Composition is a part of Aero but is seperate in that it is a new way to leave subtle clues in the animations of the windows as to where they are and what they are doing. Click on the picture below to see a short simulation demonstrating this idea.
Please note you may have to install Macromedia Shockwave to view this simulation. Click here to do that now. This must be installed because your system must know how to process the video.
