Advanced Power Options

Vista's Power settings have taken an overhaul since XP. They now offer numerous power saving options that include, but are not limited to, PCI-Express control, HDD sleep control, automatically sleep/hibernate after X minutes, sound an alert when the battery is at X%, automatically shutdown the computer when the battery is at X%, and easy access to make seperate changes to when the machine is on AC power or on battery power.

Advanced Networking

Windows Vista's Networking options are designed to be more intuitive and show more information quickly. Whenever you connect to a network, it shows you exactly how it connects to the internet (if possible) and how you are connected to other machines on the same network. In addition, it automatically offers to begin media and file sharing between your computer and those that are on the same network. Vista also recognizes different networks and remembers which networks are private and which are public, changing file access to your settings for either network.

Sync Center

The Sync Center offers a centralized location to view all the external computers such as PDA's you might have plugged into your computer. Additionally, if offers control over all communications to those devices, allowing for easy starting, pausing, or stopping of communication.

Presentation Settings

Windows Vista remembers your presentation settings so when you move from conference room to conference room, it will recognize the connected equipment and restore the settings you used to that device.

Network Projection

Windows Vista has capabilities to used a networked projector, similiar to a networked printer, so that your computer would have access to a projector simply by being on the same network as it, and not needing to be connected to it directly.
