- Here you should get a dialog box to Run or Save, as shown below. Click on the Save button.

- After clicking Save, you will be asked where you would like to save it. We recommend saving the file to the Desktop so you can find it easily. Click the Save button to download the file.

Installing Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition
- Double click on the executable file (SAV10.exe) to start the installation program.
Note: Windows Vista users may need to right-click on the program and choose Run as Administrator to install the software.
- You should be greeted by the installer splash screen below. Read through the information and click Extract.

- The install program will search your computer for any other antivirus software, remove it for you and then go through the installation of Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition. The screen below shows the installer searching the computer for previous software and starting the install.

- Note: The installer contains a fix tool for Microsoft Outlook 2003 that deletes a reference to a file that can change locations if Symantec Antivirus version 10 is installed on top of an older version instead of uninstalling the old version and then installing Symantec Antivirus 10. Here is a link to the Symantec Knowledge Base article describing the problem.
Click OK if prompted by the Mail Plugin Utility.
Click Yes if it asks you to delete the file "Extend.dat". The deletion of this file won't adversely affect Symantec Antivirus 10 or Outlook 2003.
- After the install completes, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click Yes to restart and complete the install.

Updating Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition
- After the install is complete, Symantec AntiVirus should automatically update. To confirm this, double click on the shield icon
in the system tray.
- After opening Symantec AntiVirus, check the date for the virus definitions. They should be from within one week, typically within the last couple of days. If they are not, click on the LiveUpdate button.

- After clicking the LiveUpdate button, click Next to start the update process.
NOTE: You must be connected to the Internet to run LiveUpdate.

- After running the updates, you should get green checks next to each item letting you know the updates were completed successfully. Click Finish to close the window. If you do not receive the green checks, restart the update process to make sure you do not have any problems.

- After you are done, double click on the shield in the system tray again to make sure the definitions are up to date. If they are, you are finished installing and updating Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition. If the definitions are not up to date, run the update process again. If the update still does not take or if you run into any problems during the install process, please contact the ITS Help Desk and we can troubleshoot the problem for you.
