Uninstalling Norton AntiVirus 10 for Mac

Before you install the new Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10 for Mac you should uninstall your Norton AntiVirus 10. Below are the steps to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 10 for Mac:

  1. Using the Finder navigate to the Applications folder and look for the Symantec Solutions folder. Locate and double click on Symantec Uninstaller to start the process.
  2. The Symantec Uninstaller will search your hard drive for installed Symantec products and return a list to you. Place a check mark to the left of Norton AntiVirus and confirm that a check mark is automatically placed next to Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect. Then click the Uninstall button:

Note: You will not see Symantec AntiVirus Corporate appear in the list if you have not had it installed before.

  1. A box will appear asking you to confirm if you want to delete the following programs. Click the Uninstall button:

  1. You will then be prompted to enter your administrator's credentials to proceed with the uninstall. Type them into the box that appears and click Ok.
  2. The Symantec Uninstaller will process this request and you'll see a status bar indicate its progress.
  3. When the process is complete, a dialogue box may appear containing a log of information about the uninstall process. Click the Close button:

  1. You should then see a dialogue box telling you that You must restart your computer. Click on the Restart button and your computer will restart to complete the uninstall process.
