Uninstalling Virex for OS 8.6-9.2 and OS X

Removing McAfee Virex for Mac OS 8.6 - 9.X

1. From the Finder, choose File | Find….
2. Choose Channels | Files.
3. Click the File Names radio button.
4. Type Virex, then press Return.
5. Choose File | Select All.
6. Choose File | Move To Trash.
7. Close (File | Quit) the search results window.
8. Restart your computer.

Uninstalling Virex 8 for Mac OS X

 Note: In order to perform these instructions, you need to be logged in as the System Administrator.

1. Launch Terminal. This application is found in the following folder: Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities.
2. Type:  "cd /Applications/", then press the Return key.
3. Type:  "sudo rm -R Virex\ 7", then press the Return key.
4. Enter your administrator password when prompted.
5. Quit out of Terminal by clicking File | Quit.
