Checking Your Version of Symantec/Norton AntiVirus
Follow the directions below to check your version of Symantec or Norton AntiVirus.
Windows

Double click on the shield icon in the system tray in the lower-right corner of your screen to open Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Note: If double-clicking the shield icon brings up the Symantec AntiVirus application, you have a previous version of the antivirus protection provided by ITS and you should upgrade to Symantec Endpoint protection. Click here for instructions on obtaining the most recent version.
- In the Symantec Endpoint Protection main screen click the button in the top right that says Help and Support. From the drop down menu choose About...

- Note the version number and make sure that it is the current version listed on the ITS Help Desk's Software Download page.

Macintosh

Go to your Applications folder and look for Symantec AntiVirus or Norton AntiVirus and double click to open it. (The example below displays the Symantec AntiVirus product.)

Check the Version number on this screen. You will want to make sure you are running version 9.0.2 or above to be sure your version is secure. If you have an older version, please review the system requirements and download the appropriate version at the Software Download Site.
