IT Student Worker Training Program

The IT Student Worker Training program is for students who will work in support or web positions for colleges, departments or other administrative units at the University of Iowa. There are two parts to the program.

Spring 2009

Core IT Support Skills (January 5-9, 2009)
Creating Web Sites (Thursdays 9:30-11:20 AM)

Enrollment for Credit

Enrollment for academic credit is available as an option. Register through department 416 in ISIS to find these courses. Both training programs are offered as 2 semester hour courses and are graded on an S/U basis. A registration code is required to enroll. You may request the code when you are applying to the program.

Costs

There are no charges for either program with books and tools provided to the students. Students enrolling for credit are responsible for their own tuition.

Requirements

Each student must either hold or be interested in getting a job in tech support/web page maintenance for a University department or other unit. Students are expected to be on campus for at least one more year (no graduating seniors, please).
