Online@Iowa is a one-credit, pass-fail course that introduces incoming students to technology and electronic resources at The University of Iowa.
Faculty Development and Consulting
ITS offers online, one-on-one and group training for faculty and instructors in the effective use of instructional technologies
Student Instructional Technology Assistants (SITA)
SITAs are graduate and undergraduate students who provide one-on-one consulting for faculty in technology and instructional design issues, offer production assistance and introduce other ITS-Instructional Services resources as needed. SITAs also provide departmental training on instructional software.
Self-Paced Training and Resources
The University has a site license for Lynda.com. Lynda.com is an online training library that provides access to more than 1,000 courses and over 56,000 tutorials on a wide variety of technology-related topics.
Online Courses and Books
- Through SkillSoft, students, faculty and staff can access almost 3,000 online courses free of charge
- Books 24x7 is an online book resource offering access to the complete contents of almost 10,000 business and technology books
Security at Iowa
All employees are strongly encouraged to complete online Security Awareness training to familiarize themselves with various IT security guidelines, policies, and services. Examples of concepts covered include personal online safety and protecting institutional data.
