Software Repair and Troubleshooting Service Support Center
The ITS Help Desk provides a computer software repair and troubleshooting service at no cost to University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff. If initial troubleshooting efforts over the telephone or by e-mail are not successful, customers can drop their laptop or desktop computer off at the Help Desk for "hands-on" assistance. The Software Repair and Troubleshooting Service Support Center provides information about the types of services provided, details on backing up important data, and instructions for dropping off your computer for service.
Note: The ITS Help Desk does not offer computer hardware installation, repair, or troubleshooting services. Click here for a list of local computer hardware repair service providers.
The ITS Help Desk does not offer drop-off service for University departmental machines. These machines should be taken to the department's IT support person, due to departmental computer configurations that the Help Desk may not be familiar with.
