What is Identity Finder?
Identity Finder is software that helps you find and remove personal information stored on your computer. Identity theft can occur when personal information, such as social security numbers and credit card numbers, fall into the wrong hands. ITS has licensed the Identity Finder software for University of Iowa faculty and staff work and personal computers.
Identity Finder is only available for the Windows operating system. Macintosh users can use Identity Finder through Virtual Desktop to scan their computers for sensitive personal information (see instructions below).
