Security Certification
ITS offers a Security Certification for your computer, certifying that it is safe to use on the campus network. Security Certification is available through the Help Desk's software repair and troubleshooting service and entails:
- Making sure your computer is patched with all of the latest Windows updates.
- Making sure that you have antivirus software installed on your computer.
- Making sure you have a firewall enabled to help protect your computer from being compromised.
Additionally, ITS provides the optional service of checking your computer for spyware and adware, which can cause problems with computer performance. Please note that removing spyware and adware can cause some programs, such as Kazaa, to not work.
