Details:

ITS is currently experiencing a issue with MyFiles Premium with not accepting WebDAV connections. MyFiles Basic is working fine. ITS staff is working to resolve this.

If users need to access their home drive, they can use MyFiles Basic. If a user needs to access a shared drive from off campus, connecting to the VPN and mapping a drive or using the Virtual Desktop service are options.

Blackboard Collaborate

Details:

ITS has received reports of customers having problems getting Collaborate to work. The following error message has occurred: Failed to validate certificate. The application will not be executed.

ITS Support staff have found that having Java 7 installed is causing this issue. Specifically, Blackboard is not currently supporting Java 7 with Collaborate at this time and recommends that users download a supported version of Java (which would be Java 6). Java can be downloaded from: http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

If you are using Java 7, you should uninstall it and download and use Java 6 instead.

Elluminate Live/Collaborate

There is a known issue with Blackboard Collaborate and Elluminate Live which has been caused by the most recent updates to Java. The following error may be displayed when trying to access these resources: Unable to open application. globalcampus.uiowa.edu: 443

This may be caused by an error in the Java cache. More information on this error can be found here:

http://java.com/en/download/help/clearcache_upgrade.xml

Clearing the Java cache may resolve the problem.

You can clear the cache by following these steps:

1. Close Java application or applet

2. Open Java Control Panel

3. Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files

4. Click Delete Files

Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache.

5. Click OK on Delete Temporary Files window

6. Restart your application or applet

Microsoft's OnTheHub website is currently not working properly. This is the website where students can get copies of Microsoft software.
