Subscription and Billing Information

Students

Students are automatically registered to use the remote access dial-in service. No additional registration process is required. There are no charges to students using the local telephone numbers available (consult our phone list). A low-cost, long-distance access number, 1-866-759-IOWA (4692), is available for calls outside the local area. There is a usage fee of $0.10 per minute for this access, which will be applied to your University Bill. This number is available in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. International calls are not supported.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and Staff, including emeritus faculty and staff, are eligible for this service. See our FAQ page for additional details. Here's what you need to get started:

1. Complete the Faculty/Staff Remote Access Services Application Form available at: http://helpdesk.its.uiowa.edu/remoteaccess/remoteaccessform.pdf. Return completed form, to the ITS Customer Information Desk (CID), 2800 University Capitol Centre, or fax it to the CID at (319) 335-5505.
2. The CID will send you an email message with the information needed to get started.

Subscribers are charged a monthly access fee of $5.00 for local usage. The $5.00 monthly service charge occurs only if the service has been used within any given month.

There are a couple of different ways to pay for your remote access service.

1. Bill monthly service charges and long distance charges (if applicable) to your University Bill.
2. Bill monthly service charges and long distance charges (if applicable) to a departmental MFK. Complete the MFK section of the application form. You must have departmental approval for this option.
