4. Enter the telephone number into the field, making sure not to enter an Area Code. Entering an Area Code could cause you to receive long distance charges from your telephone carrier.

Phone Number

Note: Customers are responsible for all charges incurred through the phone company.  Please check with your local phone company to make sure that the number you are using to connect to remote access will not include additional long distance or local usage charges.  Customers are responsible for all charges.

5. On the "Make New Connection" dialog box, click Finish to continue.

6. To connect to the Internet, double-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop.

7. After clicking on Internet Explorer, you should receive a "Connect To" dialog box to connect to the Internet. This dialog box asks for your User name and Password.

The User name is hawkid@ui

For example, if Jane Doe has jdoe as her HawkID, she types jdoe@ui as her remote access user name.  The Password is your Hawk ID password, as used in the ITCs.

Make sure the local number that was given to you is entered into the Phone number field. This was entered in the setup and the Area Code should not be present. Click Connect to complete your connection to the Internet.
