Update Remote Access after Changing your Hawk ID Password

Note: These instructions are only for updating your Hawk ID password that has been saved in the configuration for Remote Access. Updating your Hawk ID password in the Remote Access configuration will not change your Hawk ID password for any other services or applications. To change your Hawk ID password, see the Hawk ID web site.

Following are instructions for updating your Hawk ID password if it has been saved using Remote Access.

Windows XP

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel to open the Control Panel. If you are using the Classic View, open Network Connections and double-click the University of Iowa Remote Access icon. If you are using Category view, go to Network and Internet Connections, then open Network Connections and double-click the University of Iowa Remote Access icon.

  2. On the Connect window, click in the Password entry field and enter your new Hawk ID password.

Mac OS X

  1. Go to the Apple menu, select System Preferences and choose the Network option.

  2. If more than one type of network connection is set up, select the Internal Modem item from the list of network connections, if necessary, and click the Configure button.

  3. Select U of I Remote Access in the Location drop-down list and Internal Modem in the Show list.

  4. Update the Password field with your new Hawk ID password. If the fields are not accessible, you will need to click the lock icon in the bottom left corner and log in using your account password.
