ITC Printing Release Stations

ITC PrintingPrint release stations are a new feature of the ITC Printing system.  These stations are a small computer installed near the printer in select locations.  When in a facility with print release functionality, your print request will be sent to the release station and will not physically print until you approve it. The print release stations add several enhancements:

Print jobs can be released using the release stations at the printer (see instructions below) or through a web interface.

Using the Print Release Station

  1. Once you have printed your document in a facility with print release functionality, visit the printer where you will find a small computer presenting the following screen. Enter your Hawk ID and click the OK button.

  2. You will then be presented with a list of print jobs ready for release. If you wish to print the document, click the Print link. To cancel the print out, click the Cancel link, which will delete the print job and not charge your account.

  3. When finished releasing print documents the list will clear.  Click the Done button to exit the system.

Using the Print Release Station from the Web

  1. Print release stations can be accessed through the Internet.  If you have printed a document in a facility with print release functionality, you can browse to https://printing.its.uiowa.edu and sign in with your Hawk ID and password.

  2. Select the link labeled Jobs pending release on the left side of the screen. A list of jobs pending release will display in the table. If you wish to print the document, click the Print link under Action in the table. To cancel the print out, click the Cancel link, which will delete the print job and not charge your account.
