PeopleSoft 7.62 Client Installation

1. Log in to the workstation using the account of the user who will be using PeopleSoft.  Map drive P: to \\iowa.uiowa.edu\shared\UIData\PSoft. (If you are a LAN Services customer, this will already be done for you.  If you are unable to map this drive, please contact the Customer Information Desk at 4-0800 to request security access.)

2. To install Crystal Reports, browse to P:\FS762\crw60\WkcStp32 and double-click Setup.

3.  Press Continue to begin, then press Continue twice more to accept the defaults, and begin the installation.  Click Yes to create the program group for Crystal Reports for PeopleSoft.

4. Press OK to acknowledge the ODBC dialog box, and click No to finish the installation without opening the Readme.txt file

5. To install the PeopleSoft FS 7.62 client, browse to P:\FS762\bin\CLIENT\WINX86 and double-click the icon for pscfg.exe

6.  The Configuration Manager opens to the Startup tab.

7. Choose a selection for the Initial Window, make sure that the Database Type is set to ORACLE, then fill in the fields for the Database Name and Operator ID.

8.  Click the Crystal tab and fill in the fields as follows:

8.  Click the Process Scheduler tab, and verify that all fields are populated:

9.  Check that the Word Executables Directory contains the correct path for the user’s Microsoft Office executables.

10.  Click the Client Setup tab and make the following modifications:

  • Under Shortcut Links, check the box for Uninstall Workstation  

  • Under ODBC Setup, check both boxes

  • Check the box at the bottom of the page marked Install Workstation

11.  The rest of the fields, on all other tabs should populate on their own.  Click Apply to install the client.  You may see the following error message:

It is safe to ignore this message.  Click OK to continue the installation.

12.  Once the installation is complete, have the user launch PeopleTools from the PeopleSoft FS 7.5 program group.  The Database Name and Operator ID fields should reflect your previous configuration.

13.  Verify that the user can log in and perform whatever functions they require.
