- Outages - Outages are events that will cause a service interruption that will affect users.
- Known Issues - Known Issues are events that may cause problems or affect some users, but are not service interuptions.
- Planned Work - Planned work are maintenance and service events that should not affect users.
Recurring Downtimes:
Administrative Mainframe System Downtimes
- CICS Application Downtimes (various applications may be unavailable for brief periods during weekly evening hours.)
- Monday - Friday: 2:30 AM - 2:45 AM
- IBM z800 Enterprise Server (Mainframe) Systems Maintenance Downtimes (as scheduled and announced in outages.)
- Friday: 11 PM - Saturday: 6 AM
- Saturday: 9 PM - Sunday: 8 AM
Many administrative mainframe applications and functions are available during downtime hours, although service is occasionally interrupted or terminated without warning. Special arrangements for service availability will be accommodated when possible. To make these requests, please contact the ITS Help Desk.
Academic Mainframe Systems Downtimes
- IBM z800 Enterprise Server (Mainframe) - Monday - Friday: 6:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M.
- IBM z800 Enterprise Server (Mainframe) - Friday: 11 PM - Saturday: 6 AM and Saturday: 9 PM - Sunday: 8 AM.
Telephone Voicemail and Voice "trees"
- First and Last Sunday of each month: 6 A.M. - 9 A.M.
- Typical monthly maintenance takes less than 30 minutes and is only performed one day per month
Red Hat Network
To allow more timely installation of OS and application updates, we're establishing a weekly maintenance window for the UI Red Hat Network service. This window will be 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. every Thursday morning. We may or may not use this time to perform maintenance as needed. When possible, we'll notify everyone via this e-mail list in advance of any planned work, but we ask that you not schedule any processes that may require the Satellite server during this time.
Virtual ITC/MyCitrix
The Virtual ITC/MyCitrix services will be unavailable at 3:00 AM every Sunday due to a very short recurring outage. The total time of the outage should be approximately 10 minutes. This is necessary so that Windows and Microsoft Office updates may be installed and so that the servers may be rebooted. If there are users logged on at this time, the Citrix system will automatically send them a message 10 minutes prior to the outage informing them to save their work. Any Citrix sessions that are running during this time will be lost.
