10/100BaseT Configuration - Mac OS 7.5.5-9.x

By default, Macs are set to auto configure their Ethernet cards, so you do not need to configure anything. However, if you would like to check to make sure you are running at 100 MB, you can go into the Apple System Profiler under the Apple Menu. You should see a screen similar to the one below:

In the circled area, it should say 100 Mbps for your speed and full for Duplex. If it does not, restart your computer and see if it changes. If this does not change it, please call into the Help Desk at 384-HELP or send E-mail at its-helpdesk@uiowa.edu.
