MyFiles Support Center

MyFiles allows students, faculty, and staff to access and interact with their data stored on their personal network space (for students, this is your SAFE space). There are two ways to use MyFiles to access your data.

MyFiles Basic

MyFiles Basic offers a simple web interface to your data from any web browser. Faculty, staff, and students in the IOWA domain can access their network space through this simple web interface by visiting http://myfiles.uiowa.edu.

MyFiles Premium

MyFiles Premium provides enhanced functionality beyond the simple web interface of MyFiles Basic. This additional functionality provides a Windows Explorer or Mac folder-like view of your network space. You can also permanently mount your network space folder on your home computer using MyFiles Premium, which will enable you to save files directly from applications to your network space, rather than saving to a temporary location and uploading the files at a later time.

In order to use the MyFiles Premium interface, you must be running either Windows XP Service Pack 2, Vista, or Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger).

Note: MyFiles Premium works best with a high-speed connection. If you are using a dial-up connection, you may want to use MyFiles Basic to avoid performance issues.
