iPhone/iPod Touch Hawkmail Settings

ActiveSync

With the release of version 2.0 of the operating system for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Hawkmail users can now access their e-mail with a direct connecting to the Hawkmail server using ActiveSync. This is the recommended way to access your e-mail, as it syncs up with the server, allowing you to read your e-mail both through the mobile device, using an e-mail client such as Outlook or Entourage, and through the Hawkmail web site.

IMAP

If you do not have version 2.0 of the iPhone/iPod Touch software, you can still retreive your e-mail using IMAP. IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a standards-based protocol for synchronizing your e-mail with a server that supports this protocol. IMAP allows you to read your e-mail on your iPhone while leaving a copy on the server.
