PC Pine

With the disabling of interactive logins on Blue, users lost the ability to access Pine on the system.  There is a program called PC Pine which you can download on your computer and configure to check your Blue account there.  This will allow users who prefer a text based client to still be able to access their Blue account in their preferred method

A couple of notes before you install PC Pine:

The following are the steps you need to take to setup PC Pine on your computer:

  1. Download PC Pine.  The newest version is available for download from the PC Pine home page, http://www.washington.edu/pine/getpine/pcpine.html.  When you are at this page, you will see a link for the Latest 32-bit PC Pine.  After clicking this, there will be a number of files to choose from to download.  You will want to download the file called pmXXXw32.zip, where XXX is a number such as 444.

  2. Once you have downloaded this file, you will need a program to unzip the file, such as WinZip.  A trial version of this program can be downloaded at http://www.winzip.com or http://www.download.com/.  Once you have this installed, you will need to unzip the PC Pine file.  You will want to choose a location to extract the files to, we would recommend c:\pine.
