2/18/2007 - The ITS Help Desk Has Moved
The ITS Help Desk has moved to the University Capitol Centre (also known as the Old Capitol Mall or Old Capitol Town Center). The Help Desk is now located on the second floor of the southeast end of the building. The Help Desk's hours, phone number, and services all remain the same. Stop by and check out our new location!
2/7/2007 - Updated Information about Daylight Saving Time Changes Impact on Computers
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 was passed to help alleviate energy concerns across the nation. One part of the act that will affect computers is the extension of Daylight Saving Time by four weeks. Instead of changing to Daylight Saving Time on the first Sunday of April, it will now begin on the second Sunday of March. Additionally, it will now end on the first Sunday of November rather than the last Sunday of October. Some computer operating systems and applications are already updated to reflect this change. Others may require patches to be downloaded to operate properly with the change. Click here for the latest information on this change.

The ITS Help Desk web site will be down on Friday, February 9th, from 6:00am to 7:00am for maintenance.
2/6/2007 - ITS Help Desk Software Repair Service Moratorium
The ITS Help Desk will not be accepting customer computers for check-in to the Student Servicing Group (SSG) the week of February 11th through February 18th, in preparation for our move to the University Capitol Centre. Click here for more information.
1/11/2007 - Adobe Reader v7.0.8 Vulnerability
A recent vulnerability has been discovered in Adobe Reader version 7.0.8 and all previous versions on of Adobe Reader for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. A malicious user who successfully exploits these vulnerabilities could take control of the affected system. Click here for more information.
1/8/2007 - ITS to Increase Efforts to Fight Spam
On January 11th, ITS will increase efforts to fight spam by changing the default spam rejection setting from 99% and above probability to 90% and above probability. You may change your spam setting at any time by visiting http://apps.its.uiowa.edu/antispamservice and login in with your Hawk ID. If you have previously modified your setting via the self-service tool, this change will not affect you.
