2/28/2006 - Connect to the Internet Wirelessly Across Campus
The UI Wireless network is the high-speed wireless Internet service available on campus to University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff. The ITS Help Desk's Wireless Support Center includes instructions for connecting to the UI Wireless service, maps of UI Wireless "hot spots" on campus, and trouble-shooting tips for wireless networks.
1/27/2006 - E-mail Attachment Virus Threat
An e-mail is currently circulating with a message about a potential sexual assault on campus (From: admin@southern.edu, Subject: Rape on Campus). The e-mail is a hoax attempting to trick users into launching an attachment with a supposed picture or video of the suspect, asking for help with identification. The attachment includes a virus. See the ITS Security Center for more information about this e-mail and other ways to keep your computer safe.
1/11/2006 - ITS Help Desk Closed for University Holiday
The ITS Help Desk will close on Friday, January 13th, at 5 PM for the holiday weekend. The Help Desk will reopen and resume regular hours on Tuesday, January 17th at 8 AM.
